Biography:

John J. Moroney is a partner at the firm. Mr. Moroney has an extensive background in a variety of civil litigation practice areas including construction law, OSHA citation defense, general casualty liability, product liability, transportation litigation (including auto, common carrier, rail and trucking) and TCPA litigation.

Mr. Moroney has defended numerous clients in high exposure personal injury cases arising out of construction accidents, truck/automobile accidents and general casualty occurrences.  He defends contractors cited for OSHA violations.  He has extensive experience representing Plaintiffs and Defendants in subrogation matters, breach of contract cases and insurance coverage lawsuits.  He has an active practice defending corporations and individuals who have been accused of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TPCA).  Mr. Moroney's litigation practice has culminated in multiple arbitrations, mediations and trials.

In addition to litigating cases in State and Federal Courts while at Bollinger Ruberry & Garvey, Mr. Moroney previously had an opportunity to spend his first two years out of law school as a trial lawyer at what was then the largest Plaintiff's construction injury law firm in Chicago, Illinois. This experience has provided Mr. Moroney with an advantage in evaluating the liability and exposure on behalf of a client in construction and personal injury lawsuits as well as determining the most successful and efficient way to defend and resolve cases.

As a result of his construction litigation background, Mr. Moroney has been retained to represent owners, engineers, architects, general contractors and subcontractors in virtually every type of construction litigation.

Mr. Moroney has served as a chief arbitrator in the Circuit Court of Cook County since 1996 and has served as a panel member at various seminars focusing on practice issues relating to construction law and the defense of personal injury lawsuits.
