Biography:

Michael Barrett specializes in litigating complex commercial disputes.  He has successfully represented various primary and excess insurers in declaratory judgment actions, as well as in matters where the insured has alleged "bad faith."  In addition to his insurance coverage practice, Mr. Barrett has successfully defended various industry clients such as construction companies, actuaries, commercial trucking companies, national organizations and fraternities, and insurance brokers.  He has also defended various Fortune 500 Companies in claims involving professional liability and commercial disputes.  While Mr. Barrett has obtained a number of favorable settlements for his clients via mediation, he is prepared to zealously defend his clients' rights at trial, should the opposing party refuse to negotiate in good faith.  Mr. Barrett is a seasoned litigator who has successfully first-chaired more than 20 jury trials to verdict.
